Noodles In Peanut Sauce

So, you loaded all of your resupply boxes with ramen and you were sick of it three town stops ago? Here is a variation on your ramen that you can usually make if you find a supermarket.


  • 1 package of ramen
  • 3 T. or 3 1oz. packets of creamy peanut butter
  • 2 takeout packets of soy sauce -OR- a little sprinkle of the ramen flavoring packet

Optional Ingredients

  • 1/2-1 packet red pepper flakes (like those that come with takeout pizza) -OR- 1 packet of chili sauce
  • 1/2-1 packet sugar
  • Handful dried mixed veggies

On-Trail Preparation

Break up ramen into the bottom of your cook pot. If adding dried veggies, place them in the pot with the noodles. Add just enough water to cover noodles and veggies and bring water to a boil. Remove from heat and let sit until noodles and veggies are softened, about 5 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir into noodles (you may need to add a bit more water if it is too thick). Add sugar and pepper flakes to taste. Enjoy! (950-990 calories)
